This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry as a community services worker providing first point of contact and assisting individuals in meeting their immediate needs.


The CHC22015 – Certificate II in Community Services is delivered over 12 months in a face-to-face group based environment with weekly classroom sessions at the school. Learning resources are offered either electronically or paper-based depending on the needs of students and their schools.


There are no fees applicable for this course for eligible students undertaking VETiS training in a school environment. The VETiS program is funded by the Queensland Government to give eligible students funding to complete one Certificate I or II level qualification while attending secondary school. Click here for more information.


To achieve a CHC22015 – Certificate II in Community Services a total of 9 units must be completed including 5 core units and 4 elective units as listed below.

The unit CHCVOL001 Be an effective volunteer * requires students to participate in at least 20 hours of voluntary work in an organisation with a structured volunteer program.
