The Telecommunications industry has expanding employment opportunities. Students will learn how to assess installation requirements, plan and perform installations and much more.

The Australian Communications Media Authority (AMCA) for Cabling rules state it is a legal requirement to be appropriately registered in order to connect, install, repair and maintain cabling.

The ICT30519 – Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology is delivered within 12 months. Content is delivered with weekly classroom/workshop sessions at our delivery locations.

Course Requirements

To achieve an ICT30519 – Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology, 16 units must be completed including 6 core units and 10 elective units.

  • ICTWOR308 Provide customer service to telecommunications customers

  • ICTCBL247 Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Open Rule *
  • ICTCBL301 Install, terminate and certify structured cabling installation
  • ICTCBL303 Install and terminate coaxial cable
  • ICTCBL305 Hand over cable systems and equipment
  • ICTCBL306 Locate and identify cable system faults
  • ICTCBL322 Install, test and terminate optical fiber cable on customer premises
  • ICTCBL323 Test cables and systems on customer premises **
  • ICTSAS305 Provide ICT advice to clients
  • ICTTEN207 Install and test internet protocol devices in convergence networks

Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology Cost

At Aurora Training Institute, we offer a number of flexible payment options, as well as give students access to government funding. Eligible students can receive funding for their first Certificate III through the Queensland Government.

Students who are eligible for funding under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee Program are only required to cover a co-contribution fee.

Students can study online or on campus to access funding.

Telecommunications Technology Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding Eligibility

The Certificate 3 Guarantee Program is funding students can receive via the Queensland Government for their first Certificate III, Certificate IV / Diploma. To be eligible, students must:

  • Be aged 15 years or older.
  • Be a permanent Queensland resident.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits who are on the pathway to becoming a permanent resident.
  • No longer be at school, other than Vet-in-school students.
  • Not have completed or are currently enrolled in a Certificate III or higher. This does not include qualifications gained at school.
