Diploma of Community Services Course Delivery

At Aurora Training Institute, we maximise our course delivery so that our students get the most out of the time they spend studying with us. We have developed a comprehensive syllabus for the Diploma of Community Services, delivered over 12 months, that educates and inspires students who undertake the course.

Training and assessment will be delivered online and in the workplace. To achieve a Diploma of Community Services, students must complete 16 units which consist of 8 core units and 8 elective units. The elective units allow students to break into two branches of study, case management and general electives.

Case Management

Students who pursue Case Management serve as patient advocates to support, guide and coordinate care for their patients or clients and to improve their well-being. Case management is essential to various industries, including the medical, mental health and social work fields.

General Electives

General elective subjects give students a holistic understanding of community service-driven roles in society. In the 8 general elective units, students learn leadership skills, how to respond in a crisis and to facilitate responsible behaviour in and out of the workplace.

The Diploma of Community Services also incorporates a work experience module within the core units, allowing students to get practical and real-world learning experience. Students will need to complete at least 100 hours of work placement to complete the unit.
